August/September Events

Posted on

Over the remaining couple of weeks of August our focus at Heriot’s Rugby is on pre-season training and membership renewals. (if you have not yet received your membership renewal it should be with you shortly as we hope to have these all emailed by the start of next week)

On Saturday 19th August with the Heriots 1st XV away at Mowden Park, Darlington, the Heriot’s 2nd XV have a pre-season friendly against Boroughmuir at Goldenacre. 2pm KO. The bar will be open after the game until 6.30pm.

Heriot’s Junior Rugby will get underway on Sunday 20th August, with training at Goldenacre from 1.30pm until 3pm.

On Saturday 26th August both the Heriot’s 1st & 2nd XV are away at Raeburn Place for pre-season friendlies and will return to Goldenacre afterwards for a BBQ where the bar will be open and they will have a chance to meet new team mates over a beer and a burger.  It would be great to make an event of this so all members, juniors and sponsors are most welcome to join us at Goldenacre from 4.30pm onwards. If you are a non-player and would like something from the BBQ please email to ensure we have sufficient food, cost is £5, to be paid on the day.

September brings the official start of the 2017/18 season and we are hoping for a great turn out for the two September home games.

Firstly on Saturday 2nd September V Stirling County. KO 3pm.  If you have not already booked your place for our very popular pre-match lunch please don’t delay and book in now via our website here at
Tickets cost £25, but are discounted to £20 for members, and include a delicious two course lunch followed by tea or coffee and mints, guest speaker, a copy of our new, improved, match programme and entry to the game.

On Saturday 23rd September Heriot’s play Hawick at Goldenacre.  Our pre-match lunch is sponsored by our junior section so we hope to have not only members and guests but will have a special menu in addition to welcome some of our junior section players and their families. Places for this lunch can be booked via the website at We already have quite a few tables booked with guests for this lunch including former Scotland Internationalists.
