BT Cup Winners!!!

With Melrose having beaten us home and away this season we were under no illusion as to the task ahead on Saturday and as we suspected Melrose came out all guns blazing gaining the upper hand in the early stages of the BT Scottish Cup Final. However, once we got in to our stride the game settled down and the first half became a tactical battle with no quarter being given by either side. The 40 th minute proved to be a key turning point in the game with Heriot’s gaining a valuable 3 points and Melrose picking up a yellow card which allowed us to go in to half time with a 1 point lead but more importantly the momentum was firmly in our favour. This was further enhanced when Melrose picked up a second yellow immediately after they had been restored to 15 players early in the second half. Thereafter the boys played a controlled game and ground out a fantastic victory – the 8 point margin reflective of the general play.

We have now got five days to ease the aching limbs and prepare for the Premiership Final this Saturday. I have no doubt that the game over at Ayr will prove to be a much more intense affair and with a highly vocal and partisan home support all Heriot’s support is going to be vital.
The supporters’ buses will leave Goldenacre at 12:00 with a full brunch being provided by Mackenzies and served from 11:00. To book bus and/or brunch go to or contact for more information.
In order to win the biggest prizes you need to go to extraordinary lengths and the boys have been pushed to the limits this season. You can play your part in something very special so if at all possible get yourself to Millbrae on Saturday and cheer on your team. Kick off 15:00

Win or lose this has been an outstanding season and we will celebrate with a party back at Goldenacre on Saturday evening – all are welcome.
