Fresh Start

Heriot’s Rugby are delighted to announce that Fresh Start will be our charity of choice this season. Having worked so successfully with CCLASP over the last 3 years we are keen to work with another local charity. Fresh Start is based off Ferry Road and is a homeless charity offering a new beginning for those embarking on the next stage in their life.
Their mission is “to help people make a home for themselves”. The words are simple but behind the words are the passion and commitment of staff, volunteers and donors to break the cycle of homelessness.

The aim of Fresh Start is to enable people who have been homeless to resettle in to the community and to do that they work tirelessly to make this happen.

Fresh Start is a charity that is based on our doorstep and the Heriot’s community can really benefit from getting involved.

Our first joint initiative with Fresh Start is to assist them with their “Starter Packs” (basic essential household goods to help set up and sustain a new home.) Each pack contains; crockery and cutlery, pots, kitchen utensils, cleaning products, bedding, small electrical appliances, toiletries and towels and basic food items.

We will therefore be setting up a Starter Pack Drop Off point at the clubhouse at Goldenacre on Sunday 1st October from 1pm to 3pm so if you are able to donate any of the items needed as part of a starter pack please look them out and bring them along on Sunday 1st.

A full list of items needed is included in the attached Starter Pack Brochure.

We thank you in anticipation of your involvement.
