Heriot’s v Accies
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to one and all.
It certainly has been for Heriot’s with hard fought wins against Currie and Accies over the festive period. Simon Cross intimated at the pre match lunch that this game would be determined by the better defensive unit and on this occasion Heriot’s came out on top 21 15. Despite being hugely dominant it was not until the 35 minute that Kevin Bryce barrelled his way over, followed by the quick thinking Chris Mulligan and just after the break the try of the match scored by Colin Goudie – crucially all converted by the ever reliable Graham Wilson. Although Accies came back strongly we had done enough to secure a vital victory that sets us up nicely for the end of season run in.
Along with the other results this was a hugely significant victory in terms of the league as it now means that we are only 6 points behind Currie in 3rd place and with 2 games in hand, the next league match is against top of the table Ayr on 26th Jan at Goldenacre and is set to be a cracker.
This week end sees the last of the regional cup games against Stewart’s Melville at Inverleith – kick off 2.00pm so come along and support your winning team.
