New coach and team manager

At Heriot’s Rugby we are always looking to improve our coaching and off field management teams and with that in mind we are delighted to introduce the newest members.

Chris Rennie will be taking over the coaching reigns from David Stoddart who successfully guided the 3rd XV back to the Regional East Reserve League 1 in 2016. Chris is a UKCC level 2 coach having spent 13 years coaching mini, youth and senior rugby at McLaren Rugby Club in Callendar as well as a 1 year spell coaching at Stirling University. Chris is a Lecturer in Adventure Leadership Studies who is looking forward to a new rugby challenge and leading Heriot’s 3rd XV to many successful campaigns.

Neil Hinnigan is our new 1st XV Team Manager. Neil is a Kelso man who started playing ruby in their mini section, working his way through to senior level before managing Kelso 2nd XV and then the 1st XV for 4 years. He then stepped up to Director of Rugby for a further 2 years.In November 2016, Neil was appointed manager of the South of Scotland for a challenge match with Caledonian Reds and over the last two summers has acted as team manager for a South of Scotland 7s team and the Samuria Invitational 7s team.Neil is looking to bring his experience and knowledge to Heriot’s where he is keen to stamp his own mark, gain Premiership experience and is looking forward to working with Phil, Bruce and the team.
