New Signings, New Captains and London Scottish!

With a new season almost upon us and training in full swing we are delighted to be hosting London Scottish at Goldenacre on Tuesday 16th August.

Sean Lineen – London Scottish Director of Rugby is excited for what will be a valuable test against Heriot’s. “The ideal for the trip is to enhance the Scottish connection. We have 22 new players so it’s a good opportunity to get to know each other and also have a good hit out against Heriot’s.” He added: “The players can then sample the delights of the Edinburgh festival before heading back to continue preparing for the new season.”

The boys are looking forward to testing themselves against the pros so get down early for a 7.00pm kick off.

With the launch of the Premiership taking place tomorrow we are delighted to announce that Rory Carmichael will captain Heriot’s for the forthcoming season with Michael Liness and John Semple as vice captains.

Rory has been an integral part of the squad for several years and we wish him well in what will be another exciting season in the history of Heriot’s Rugby.

There are a number of new additions to the squad who include;

Ruaridh Mitchell – Prop/Hooker

Thomas and Arnie Lapyere – Lock/back row

Callum Marshall – middle row/back row

Alex Hagart – stand off

Paul McLunden – centre

Donald Crawford – centre

Gavin Parker – full back

We are under no illusion that this will be a particularly tough season as we look to build on the success of last year, however, our fantastic coaching team of Phil, Stevie and Jamie are doing everything to ensure that we are set for the defence of the trophies.
