Review of Ayr Game

Following a somewhat disjointed display against Watsonians it was pleasing to see Heriot’s playing a more aggressive and positive game against an Ayr team desperate to avenge the defeat in the Premiership final at the end of last season.
With a number of players beginning to settle in to the rhythm of Premiership rugby it was very evident the style of rugby Phil and Stevie are looking to adopt and if we continue to progress there will be a lot of exiting rugby at Goldenacre this season. As expected this was a tight encounter with Ayr nicking it in the final minutes after a period of prolonged pressure and they will no doubt be competing at the top of the Premiership again.
The league threw up some interesting results this weekend, which you can watch on Heriot’s TV on our website. We will have to be on our mettle to ensure we start climbing the table in the next few games, starting with Hawick at Goldenacre this Saturday.
Never an easy team to get past as we look forward to welcoming the boys from Mansfield.
