Review of Boroughmuir Game

3 down 1 to go.
In a season that seems to be throwing up all sorts of results, Boroughmuir came to Goldenacre looking to build on their excellent performance against Watsonians.
However, with the McLaren Shield on the line it was Heriot’s who came away with the spoils and the opportunity to get their name inscribed on the Shield should we come away with a win when Currie come to Goldenacre in January.
A strong display from the Heriot’s forwards set the platform for the day and massive games from both second rows who either scored or laid on all three tries that gave us the win that was required to keep us in fourth spot in the Premiership. Once again the weather was kind and allowed for an open game of rugby and despite a number of handling errors was another great advert for the sport.
While Boroughmuir may have been a little subdued in the first half they came out strongly after half time and set about eating in to the 13 point deficit. With both wingers seeking out the ball and looking dangerous with ball in hand we were put under immense pressure and it was a fantastic defensive effort which allowed us to emerge victorious.
Next week we travel to Glasgow to play Hawks where we will have to be right up to our best to maintain the challenge for the elusive play off berth. Al Kellock is hosting lunch at  Anniesland – all enquiries to Rona Gibson –
