Review of Boroughmuir Game

Posted on

A comfortable win over city rivals Boroughmuir cemented fifth place in the BT Premiership and concluded what has been a frustratingly inconsistent season.

This was summed up on Friday night when we started slowly, gave away a bucket load of penalties and found ourselves 17-5 down after 30 minutes. From left field the lights went on and for 40 minutes Boroughmuir didn’t get a sniff as the boys romped to 33-17 and had numerous chances to extend the lead before the game lost all shape and Boroughmuir scored a couple of late tries which may well prove crucial as they attempt to move away from the relegation zone.

Its fair to say this has not been the season we were hoping for and we will have to learn from the mistakes if we want to challenge for the last BT Premiership before Super 6 kicks in in 2019/20.

There is still plenty to look forward to as we are entered in various borders 7s tournaments in April and May before heading off to Belgrade in June to take part in the Serbia Centenary 7s.

Super Saturday this weekend with the added bonus of the Heriot’s School 7s taking place at Goldencre so come along and join in the fun.
