Review of Boroughmuir Game

Posted on

Wins against Boroughmuir are never easy so to come away from Meggetland with both 1st and 2nd XVs gaining valuable victories was especially pleasing.

The defensive efforts of Heriot’s and Boroughmuir coupled with a number of handling errors kept the score down, howeve it was probably our domination up front that gave us the edge in a tight affair.

This was a completely different affair to that of the previous week where we scored tries at will and gave the coaches an insight to the strength of our defence. We have yet to find the settled team of the last couple of years and this will take time, however, as long as we keep winning there is the opportunity to try different combinations and every reason to believe we will be in the thick of things at the sharp end of the season.

This week we host Glasgow Hawks – ably coached by Finn Gillies – who will be looking to do the double over Edinburgh opposition. There will have to be another step forward in our progression as Hawks are proving a tough nut to crack seemingly scoring from all over the pitch. The boys will be suitably prepped.

This week the Junior Section host the lunch, which as always will be an entertaining affair and with Edinburgh pros coming along for a Q & A promises some interesting revelations about the pro game.

Lunch is £10/child, £20 members and £25 non members – ticket included. All are most welcome.
