Review of Hawick Game

Posted on

A disappointing day at Mansfield Park saw Heriot’s lose by a single point and in the process relinquish second place in the BT Premiership.

A yellow card in the first minute set the tone for the day and despite going ahead 5 minutes from the end of the game, a basic lack of concentration cost us dear as a knock from a penalty restart ultimately led to a converted try and the victory going to Hawick.

This was an absorbing game that ebbed and flowed throughout with both teams having long periods in the ascendancy, however, having overcome a 14 point deficit midway through the second half was one we felt we should have won. However, as has been pointed out Hawick are in a dogfight to climb out of the relegation zone and their battling qualities were evident for all to see and they gained two places in the table.

Watsonians are the visitors to Goldenacre this week and we will have to be on our mettle if we are to be involved in the play offs come the end of the season. 14:00 kick off so get down early to join in the fun.

Its closing in on decision time with Super 6/Agenda 3 and we will be approaching all club members to seek their views and thoughts on the matters arising. A huge amount of work has gone in to look at all angles and options on the table and you can rest assured that Heriot’s along with the other Premiership clubs is looking for the best outcome for all concerned.

We are expecting a bumper crowd at Goldenacre on Saturday with a sell out lunch and mini rugby at half time so please try and make every effort to come along to Goldenacre and watch club rugby at its best.
