Glasgow Hawks consolidate third place……
Hawks started and finished the game strongly and while we had the opportunity to push on and win the game it was Hawks who scored at the death, denying us a bonus point in the process.
With Heriot’s pack dominating at the set piece and getting plenty of possession it was somewhat frustrating not to get more points on the board, however Finn has Hawks defence well organised and they were able to snuff out multiple attacks and in return attack on the break scoring four tries.
Whilst disappointing there is a long way to go and with the league taking shape will need to take our chances if we are to challenge at the sharp end of the season.
The junior section hosted a fantastic lunch on Saturday and we were delighted to have Sasa Tofilau and Alex Northam of Edinburgh Rugby as our special guests. Having been run ragged in the game of touch they were then given a tough time during the Q and A and while they may have come through mentally scarred they left physically intact.
Excellent work guys, suspect you’ve got a new band of followers.
The mighty twaes put their Hawks counterparts to the sword 55 15 with excellent performances by Logan Sinclair, Finlay Munro and Rob Kay especially pleasing. While we got off to a slow start there is now plenty of competition for places and we would expect to start climbing the league.
The 3s are also on the winning trail putting away top of the table Peebles 2s by 26 12. This was a terrific performance by a team bursting with raw talent.
Another busy week ahead sees the 1st and 2nd XVs away to Currie and the 3s heading off to sunny Biggar so if you can get along to either venue the boys will massively appreciate the support.
