Weekly Roundup
This Saturday, we have another important fixture as the 1st XV take on Jed-Forest in a Premier Group B match, kicking off at Goldenacre at 2:00pm. Team details will be posted here later in the week, but the club would like to appeal to everyone to come along and support the boys as they look to build on their 03 -20 victory over Watsonians.
Also on Saturday, the 2nd XV who currently top the RBS National Reserve League 1 have a home fixture to Currie 2nd XV, again kicking off at 2:00pm.
During the day, the clubhouse will be open to everyone and drinks and hot snacks will be available, as well as showing live rugby on Sky Sports. This Saturday’s games include Bath versus Northampton Saints, followed by England Saxons as they meet the Irish Wolfhounds.
For those who missed Edinburgh’s victory at the weekend, we will be replaying this on Thursday night, clubhouse open from 7:00pm.
On the player front, it was great to see Jamie ‘Jeems’ Parker back down at Goldenacre for training. As was quoted on the player’s forum – ‘Who needs Henry or Scholes, Jeems back.’
Finally, the club was saddened to hear of the death of Gordon Bell. Gordon played in our 1st XV and sevens sides in the 1950′s before moving to England. Gordon’s funeral will take place at 1:00pm at Cottingley Hall Crematorium, Leeds on Thursday 26th January.
